Copilot Agent Kit June 2026

The Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit release adds Test Automation Pipeline Automation for agents that require authentication, Agent Insights Hub enhancements (in-feature settings for Advanced Testing and Agent Inventory Actions), and fixes for hard-coded commercial endpoints that failed in GCC tenants.

Microsoft Agent Framework - Python 1.14.0

Adds agent hooks, an OpenAI chat-completion client, the AgentFrameworkWorkflow type, a BackgroundAgentsProvider.release_session() method, and a MagenticOrchestrator manager name; fixes cover table editing, thought signatures, and max-messages handling.

Why it matters: Teams building on Agent Framework get new orchestration and background-agent primitives plus stability fixes in the Python SDK.

MAI-Image-2 and MAI-Image-2e retire in Foundry

Microsoft's MAI-Image-2 and MAI-Image-2e preview image models reach retirement on 2026-08-15 in the Foundry model catalog. Migrate to MAI-Image-2.5 and MAI-Image-2.5-Flash respectively.

Why it matters: Workloads still calling the MAI-Image-2 preview models must switch to the 2.5 replacements now to avoid breakage.
